I’ve never written a blog before. I’ve never written a diary, or a journal, or anything of the sort, so this is very new to me. I even looked up “what is a blog” before actually making one, because I had no idea what they were for.
I got a few different, and conflicting, answers.
The approach I’m going to go for is just writing down whatever’s in my head at the time. Right now, it’s just how motivated I suddenly am to write.
I woke up this morning and felt strangely driven. Over the past few years, I’ve tried writing as much as I could, but I’d always blame my job and chores and the like for sapping my strength and motivation, so all I wanted to do was sleep and play video games. This unfortunately resulted in a severe lack of words on my Word document. Today, though, I finished work and all I wanted to do was write, which was a very welcome change.
My wonderful partner, Julie, gave me a book for my birthday last year called You are a writer (so start acting like one) by Jeff Goins, and when she gave it to me, I was ecstatic that she supported me in my dreams. However, it wasn’t until today that I read the entire book front to back, and it was very, very insightful. It said to start a blog, so I did, and here I am. It also said to build a platform, so I’m going to be streaming my writing and such on Twitch as well as doing some advertising and networking over Twitter/X. Feel free to come say hi on either platform.
So here I am, writing a blog post, and about to continue writing my 500th or so page of my novel. It’s turning into something much longer than I anticipated, I’ll admit, but hopefully, I can cut it down a little during editing. I don’t want my readers getting bored…
Anywho, thanks for being here, I really appreciate you taking the time to read through my assorted thoughts and writings! I’ll write something insightful another day, I promise. I plan to write one post a day.

What did you think about this?
