The Rangers’ Guild of Thamatora is a company of Elvish warriors dedicated to protecting the city and the proof of its’ existence from outsiders who may stumble across it. Members of this guild train for their entire lives to protect their homes, and dedicate themselves to it completely.
The leader of this guild is none other than Astrid Seersblood, the pious and deeply devoted daughter of the High Seer of Thamatora, Paan Seersblood. Succeeding the previous leader by virtue of her unmatched skill with a longbow, Astrid has dedicated her life to the upkeep and growth of the Rangers’ Guild, believing her purpose to have been bestowed upon her by the Sacred Eight themselves. In fact, the only thing that rivals her dedication to her Guild is her faith in the Sacred Eight.
Astrid’s prized possession is a longbow of her own making – one distinct from any other due to the sharp steel blades mounted on the ends of each limb, making her bow function as a twinblade for close-quarters. She is always stoic, and commands a strong presence wherever she goes – a natural-born leader, some might say.
On one unassuming day, though, she discovers something, or rather, someone, on her patrols. Someone who leads her on a path that not only shakes the trust in her city and those who lead it, but her faith in the Sacred Eight as well. A path that could spell the end of her entire world as she knows it.
As some say, the greatest sacrifices require the strongest wills – and Astrid’s will might very well be the strongest of them all.
Read about Astrid Seersblood and her adventure when my book Children of the Sun is released!
