Anomalous object report: Subject UW-028.

Subject UW-028 was originally discovered in ██████ by Dr ███ (deceased). Its original appearance was that of a █████. However, to date, it has taken many other forms, including that of a notebook, website, and an advertisement board. The subject takes on the properties of whichever object it mimics and is physically indistinguishable from that object.  

It appears that UW-028 is an intelligent entity which acts with malicious intent. All civilians and personnel who have come into contact with UW-028 by any means are found dead exactly twenty-eight days after initial exposure. The most common method of execution that UW-028 employs is suicide, but more recently, victims have been found dead by other methods. This potentially indicates that UW-028 is learning new methods of execution, though this is simply speculation. It is unknown if UW-028 has the capacity to learn. 

Experiments have been conducted to determine whether it is possible to prevent death caused by UW-028. The first such experiment involved exposing death row inmate ████████ to UW-028 and monitoring him for twenty-eight days. On the final day, he was strapped to a chair, unable to move, with medical personnel standing by in case of emergency. He experienced a severe heart attack, which the medical team were able to respond to swiftly. However, shortly afterwards, he then experienced a brain aneurysm, which killed him. It is unknown whether or not UW-028 was aware that the heart attack failed, or whether the aneurism was a mere coincidence. It is also possible that the heart attack was a coincidence, and the aneurism was the planned method of execution. All future experiments have achieved the same results, leading all researchers to believe that after exposure to UW-028, death is certain after twenty-eight days. 

Another property that UW-028 seems to exhibit is that individuals who are aware of the existence of UW-028 cannot verbally communicate about it to anyone who is unaware of its existence. In order to propagate knowledge about UW-028, information about it must be written down, either electronically or physically. 

To date, all attempted methods of containment for UW-028 have failed due to the unnatural replication abilities it exhibits. It appears as though any written text mentioning UW-028, either by name or by reference (e.g., referring to it as the “text of death,” censoring the name, or otherwise), transforms the medium for that text into UW-028.
